What Earn to Learn (ETL) looks like at Utah Tech University (UT)

New and Current UT Students must:

  • Qualify as an incoming or current UT student who is eligible for an undergraduate academic scholarship, non-resident waiver or international scholarship, worth $1000 or more per semester.
  • Enroll, online or in-person, as a full-time, degree-seeking student (minimum of 12 credit hours / units) at UT.
    • *including transfer and direct employment degrees
  • Domestic students must have a completed FAFSA on file with UT prior to the start of the intended semester. International students will be reviewed by the Office of International Programs.
  • Meet all other financial aid criteria and meet needs-based qualifications as defined by UT.
  • Additional recognition will be focused to support eligible Maricopa Community College District (AGEC) transferring to UT.

Additional Notes:

  • Utah Tech will select the first 100 students who meet these criteria, and complete the required ETL training, application and enrollment steps, and offer them the opportunity to participate in the ETL cohort.
  • The Matched-Savings Account process is guided by the ETL team savings is not due at the time of enrolling with ETL.
  • Eligible students and their families deposit $500 into a savings account each year, then receive an 8:1 match through combined university support and other public and philanthropic funding. This creates $4,500 per academic year in total available funds for tuition, fees, room and board, and other costs to support educational success. UT’s contribution to this match is provided by designated UT waivers and scholarships as the fund match from the university.
