Earn to Learn Announces New Financial Wellness Department
Since the inception of the Earn to Learn program, financial wellness has been an integral component to ensuring the long-term success of students. We believe in the importance of students having access to education and resources with the ability to gain valuable skills to positively transform their lives post-graduation. Our personal finance training, success coaching, mentorship programs, and continuing education services are all pieces of the overall puzzle for post-secondary attainment. These services are particularly crucial for the program’s first-generation, low-to-moderate-income families, who often lack access to essential financial literacy and wellness resources.
Over the past year, Earn to Learn has been planning to expand these services into a dedicated program. Enter the new Financial Wellness Program. This program will provide students and their families with enhanced resources and personalized financial counseling. Offered services will include assistance with financial goal setting, establishing and maintaining positive financial behaviors, and navigating non-equity-building debt, including credit cards and, very importantly, student loans. Earn to Learn remains committed to addressing today’s students’ most urgent financial needs as the programs continue to grow and ensure financial security for everyone.
The program is under the capable leadership of Tim Cerebe, a seasoned professional with a proven track record in launching successful initiatives. Tim’s past achievements include establishing the groundbreaking Roanoke Financial Empowerment Center in Virginia. His wealth of experience and expertise, along with the dedicated team of Financial Counselors, will be instrumental in crafting a program tailored to the unique needs of currently enrolled post-secondary students, ensuring better post-graduation outcomes, and furthering Earn to Learn’s mission of breaking cycles of poverty through education and access.
To kick off this program, Earn to Learn has recruited Clara Contreras-Boos, Monica Crespo, and Wendy McBroom as Financial Counselors. This trio of experienced, professionally trained, certified Financial Counselors will help guide students and their families on their financial journeys by helping them navigate financial challenges while actively supporting them in identifying and achieving their financial goals. Our one-on-one, client-led counseling sessions will provide expert guidance on money management, budgeting strategies, debt reduction, building credit, savings plans, and more. This expansion will significantly amplify the program’s ability to positively influence even more students in need. Given that financial stress is a pervasive challenge for students, providing robust financial guidance is essential for helping them navigate these difficulties and offering hope for a brighter future.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
