Earn to Learn Attends the Maricopa Community Colleges Student Success Conference
Earn to Learn’s Director of Community Engagement, Courtney Fauss, and Recruitment and Outreach Program Manager, David Rodriguez, had the privilege of attending the 36th annual Maricopa Community Colleges Student Success Conference. This year’s event, held in Mesa, Arizona, on October 25th, was a wonderful day connecting with our partners within Arizona, including Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, Grand Canyon University, and Western Governors University.
Breaking down barriers to student success was the conference’s main focus point. They kicked off the morning with the keynote presentation provided by Dr. Hana Lahr from Columbia University highlighting the incredible work that’s being done at their Community College Research Center, where she translates research on advising, student onboarding, and guided pathways into practical guidance for post-secondary students. From there, the team was able to attend various breakout sessions that offered valuable information and strategies on bolstering student success, the importance of transparency, active learning approaches, and more! The day wrapped up with a heartwarming panel from students from throughout Maricopa County. It was great hearing their insight on the support they receive from this wonderful district of schools.
