Generations of low-income students have relied on Pell Grants to attend college, but the federal financial aid doesn’t go nearly as far as it used to – its buying power outpaced by rising costs for tuition, fees, books and other college expenses. Today, nearly 1 in 2 college graduates in Arizona finish their degree with student-loan debt … a total tab that averages almost $25,000 each.
