What Earn to Learn (ETL) looks like at Arizona State University (ASU)

To qualify, you must:

Current Arizona Community College Students

  • Complete at least 36 transferable credit hours by the time of transfer to ASU
  • Transfer to ASU the immediate fall/spring semester after community college attendance (cannot take a semester off)
  • Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours at ASU
  • Plan to enroll in an in-person campus OR online / ASU Local program
  • Qualify for in-state tuition
  • Qualify to receive $1 or more from the Federal Pell Grant OR meet other needs-based eligibility*
  • ASU and ETL support Prop 308 students. For more information, refer to the Additional Notes section below.**

Current ASU students

  • Have initially enrolled at ASU as a transfer student (with at least 36 transferrable credit hours
  • Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours at ASU
  • Plan to enroll in an in-person campus OR online / ASU Local program
  • Qualify for in-state tuition
  • Qualify to receive $1 or more from the Federal Pell Grant OR meet other needs-based eligibility*
  • ASU and ETL support Prop 308 students. For more information, refer to the Additional Notes section below.**

Earn to Learn at ASU is not available to students:

  • Starting at ASU directly after high school / incoming freshmen
  • Receiving a tuition waiver
  • Participating in any Corporate Partner / “Tuition Benefit” pathways
  • Who have already earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree
  • Who enroll in a concurrent program (attend two different colleges part-time simultaneously to total full-time enrollment).
    • Note: this is different from high school dual-enrollment programs. Participation in high school dual-enrollment programs, where you earn college credit before high school graduation, does not affect your eligibility for this scholarship.

Additional Notes:

  • Must be AZ Resident
  • Degree program not eligible: RN to BSN – Concurrent Enrollment (BSN)
  • The following ASU Local locations are not eligible or any new ASU LOCAL locations:
    • California
    • Hawai’i
  • **Needs-based eligibility will be defined by those who are deemed eligible by ASU in support of students under Prop 308. Students should complete and submit the CSS profile.

    Earn to Learn will not tolerate the following:

    • Abusive, harassing, discriminating, and/or obscene language or gestures.
    • Assault, verbal abuse, or threat of physical harm to a student, Earn to Learn employee/partner, or another person.
    • Forgery of school related documents, falsifying information to school authorities, Earn to Learn, or a financial partner.

    Any violation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by Earn to Learn leadership. Consequences may include a student’s immediate removal from any or all programs.
