Who am I?

Meet Kari Philpott, the friendly face of ETL’s HR department! Kari’s mission is clear: ensuring her team members receive top-notch support and nurturing ETL’s collaborative, employee-focused culture. With a knack for setting others up for success, she’s a true champion of her colleagues.

Outside of work, Kari’s heart belongs to her family and the great outdoors. Living in East Tennessee with her husband, she’s proud of their family’s commitment to education. Thanks to their parents’ sacrifices, one son has already graduated college without a hint of student debt, while the other is well on his way.

When she’s not busy at the office, you’ll find Kari out on the water, indulging in her love for boating and kayaking. And when the weather keeps her indoors, she’s likely hosting lively game nights and dinner parties, bringing joy to friends and neighbors alike.

Areas of Expertise:

  • Provide expert guidance on HR/payroll processes and direct team members to applicable HR resources
  • Serve as the first point of contact to respond to Employee Handbook/HR policies and procedures inquiries
  • Provide the head of HR with administrative support for the annual performance review and merit process
  • Coordinate recruiting, selection, and onboarding/new hire orientation processes ensuring process compliance and documentation and a positive experience for new/existing team members
  • Post jobs in Prism ATS and coordinate additional external postings as needed
  • Create, populate, and manage recruiting files in accordance with legal and organizational requirements
  • Assist with benefits and payroll administration
  • Support training programs
  • Coordinate and assist with the offboarding process
