Who am I?

Selena Quintanilla’s journey with Earn to Learn began in 2015 when they actively participated in the program to achieve dual Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Arizona. Selena’s academic pursuits included Mexican American Studies with a focus on Culture, Community, and Identity, as well as Global Studies emphasizing Human Rights, Migrations, and Social Movements. Post-graduation, Selena made Earn to Learn history by becoming the first program alumni to join the team in June 2020.

In the role of Continuing Education Coordinator, Selena spearheads the development and execution of programs tailored for first-generation, low-income students. This involves crafting new initiatives, nurturing existing partnerships, and collaborating with virtual training stakeholders to ensure relevant education for Earn to Learn participants. Selena also plays a crucial role in supporting the expansion of the Workforce Development team, closely collaborating with the Director of Workforce Development and Student Services. While primarily focused on continuing education and student events, Selena lends their expertise to outreach, marketing, and data analysis, aiding success coaches in achieving their objectives.

Selena’s dedication to student success earned them the SHRM Emerging HR Professionals Award in 2023, a testament to their unwavering commitment to the program’s participants and the embodiment of Earn to Learn’s mission.

Beyond their professional endeavors, Selena finds solace in downtime activities such as photography, crafting delicious coffees, and exploring the world of vegan fare. Their multifaceted interests reflect a holistic life approach, encapsulating professional excellence and personal passions.
