Monica Crespo has been an integral part of the Earn to Learn family since its early days, joining the organization in June 2014. Throughout her journey, Monica has not only witnessed the program’s evolution and growth but has actively contributed to the positive transformations that have shaped Earn to Learn into what it is today.

Monica’s passion for the work at Earn to Learn is deeply rooted in her love for community connection. As an immigrant herself, she empathizes with the challenges students face in navigating the American education system. In her first role as a Success Coach, Monica saw the opportunity to bridge the gap for these students, providing them with invaluable resources and guidance on their path to a brighter future. She now serves as one of Earn to Learn’s first Financial Counselors, providing one-on-one, tailor-made financial guidance for students going through our Matched-Savings Scholarship Program.

Beyond her impactful role at Earn to Learn, Monica is a multi-talented artist whose work has graced many galleries in Mexico and in the United States of America. Her artistic endeavors testify to her creativity and add a unique touch to the vibrant cultural landscape.

Areas of expertise:

• Provide individualized financial counseling sessions (including both initial and follow-up sessions)
• Assess client needs and develop highly effective individual financial action plans
• Make appropriate referrals and integrate other relevant wraparound supports (i.e., benefits, tax preparation) into counseling
• Engage in meaningful, targeted ongoing follow-up with clients
• Collect, track, and report required data using client management database
