Who am I?
Carol O’Dell, has been an unsung hero at Earn to Learn since January 2016. As Earn to Learn’s administrative assistant, she’s the wizard behind the scenes, pulling the strings that keep the program running smoothly. With a hand in various aspects of the organization, Carol’s current focus is ensuring student financial accounts align seamlessly with our Financial Institution Partners.
Following a path similar to Kate Hoffman’s, Carol transitioned into the financial sector after pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland. Her shared background with Kate forms the foundation of her deep appreciation for both Kate and the organization. Carol proudly considers herself Kate’s biggest fan and is grateful to be part of Earn to Learn’s mission. She has significantly contributed to realizing Kate’s visionary goals and the shared path toward changing the world one student at a time. Carol’s unique strength lies in her ability to recognize the value in others, even though she tends to downplay her own contributions.
Living by the mantra of seizing each day as if it were her last, Carol brings a vibrant spirit to the team. Her adventurous side has taken her to Italy, Japan, and the Philippines, reflecting her avid interest in anthropology and archaeology. During her time in Japan, she even participated in the excavation of a Jomon site. Carol’s fun-loving nature and her zest for a good life make her an invaluable and enduring member of the Earn to Learn family.
